Santa 12.23

After trying to convince Matt to buy a Santa suit so we could just take pictures from home with a “Santa” the kids really know…we decided to go to the Riverwoods for free pictures.
DSCF0852
Yes, I left them alone for TWO minutes.
Look at this cute girl.
DSCF0854
She was being shy. She ended up telling Santa she wanted a Rapunzel doll. Which she already has.
DSCF0856
Scout…Not so big a fan. She told Santa all she wanted was to get off him. Winking smile
DSCF0858-001
It was a cute set up and it was free which was awesome!
DSCF0859-001
We love our babies.

Yay for beautiful Christmas lights.

Family walk and Christmas Jammies

Matt is so good about getting us out to go for walks!
DSCF0825
But sometimes it is a little late the kids are tired. Good thing he buckled Sadie in, right?
DSCF0832
Except he didn’t so we were a little nervous.
The kids also opened their jammies from Grandma Laura. They are so cute!

They peeked!

DSCF0868
They got in to my give away pile and Sadie dressed them both up. haha.
And Scout cheated and opened up two presents.
DSCF0869
Naughty.
Sadie was amazing though and even though they were sitting there she understood she was not allowed to open them yet so she didn’t touch them. She was very jealous after Scout opened one though and wanted to so bad.

Gingerbread Man 12.23

Matt felt it was really important to download the story of the Gingerbread Man since we didn’t own it. He wanted Sadie to have a real experience with it so he read it and then made one with the kids.
They liked playing with the dough.

Here is their product.

While Sadie was going to the bathroom, the gingerbread man ran away!
DSCF0839
Sadie and Matt went all over looking for him. They looked at our neighbors house, the people who live below us, and the park before coming home. Sadie was a little sad that she couldn’t find him but she found little gingerbread droppings at each of the places so she knew he was there.
We finally found him behind our Christmas tree!

We enjoyed eating him although Sadie was a little nervous about eating him at first.

What a fun new tradition to start for our little family. I am sure Matt will have to get more elaborate every year.

Airport Drops

We drove a couple sisters to the airport so we decided to stop at Gpa Catron’s house one of those times. He is always so grateful whenever we stop by. It was fortunate that Uncle Ross and Aunt Becky were there too so we visited with them for a bit. We almost were too late for Chrissy’s flight but she managed to get there okay.

There was terrible traffic on the way down but we stopped at the West Jordan Costco and walked around and found a couple Christmas presents for Matt.
Another drive to the airport we decided to stop by Grandma and Grandpa Hatch’s place but they had shingles so only I went up. We then went to see Temple Square. We also stopped at Alberto’s for Mexican food so that was delicious.

Sister Pictures

I like taking pictures of my kids but it is frustrating too since I am not a professional. But I still think they are pretty cute.

I was trying really hard to get cute pictures for the Gpas for Christmas but I didn’t get what I was looking for.

Just some things

We have this cool apple cutters that I think was my mom’s that Chrissy has until she left for her mission so now we have it. Whew. Longest sentence ever.
Anyway, we couldn’t really get it to work. Randomly, as we were trying it one more time before chucking it out, it WORKED! And we were thrilled. Matt and I couldn’t wait to show the girls as we thought that they would be thrilled!

The kids love it. The especially like to eat the peel that is cut off. haha.
We like to have green smoothies. We just throw whatever we have in (normally, spinach, frozen berries, flaxseed, cranberries, carrots, oranges, bananas, milk, etc) They are delicious and definitely nutritious. The kids are okay with them too. They seem to like it. I always feel really good getting all my servings of fruits and veges right away. (Okay, there is way more fruit than veges which probably should be switched but hey)

Meet Kristin and Seth
IMG_8529

They love Sadie and Scout.

Meet Meiling and fiancée Barrett.
IMG_8530

They love each other. (Yes, I know…I find their relationship strange too—I mean seriously, the monkey picking stuff out of hair act? Bizzare)
Meet the lover of my life. He is such a good husband, always sup[porting my crazy ideas.
IMG_8531
We all sampled the cookies. I thought I took a picture but I guess not…
Here was crazy idea number 1. (We did a couple minute-to-win-it games). This was was “Building Olaf.” I got all these ideas off various blogs. Sorry that I am not going to cite them.
The teams for these were:
Kristin and Seth
Ling and B
Matt and Sadie
IMG_8537IMG_8541IMG_8543
I was the official timer. This was when Sadie decided that this actually wasn’t that cool and started ripping it off. I think they would have won this challenge if not for that!
IMG_8544
But the winners were Kristin and Seth.
IMG_8542
Game two. Well, I can’t remember what the second was but this was fun. We all took turns throwing the snowballs in the to bowls. It was fun. Sadie loved it and did it about eight times. She was so mad when Kristin took them and threw them away at the end of the night. She brought it up a couple times in the week following.
IMG_8549IMG_8554IMG_8557

It was really fun and I was glad that everyone brought cookies this time (as opposed to last year…) haha. Bad explaining on my part.
We love having everyone over!
