Look what Matt made me this year!

Matt has been making me something awesome for the last couple of years. This year I wanted him to build me a table for the kitchen. Our counter space is limited and we had a huge empty space for a table to fill…
This is what I wanted…

But Matt is a genius and made me this…

Isn’t it the greatest? One of the most functional things we have made. The whole top is a cutting board that Marcia Whetton was nice enough to pick up for us. Cool huh? Now who has enough counter space!?! It is awesome and I love it! We weren’t going to put the microwave there but it ended up fitting perfect! Love it honey!! Thank you.

Pirates

Did you know Krispy Kremes gives out dozen dough nuts for people who dress like a pirate on pirate day? Well, we definitely took advantage of that and scored ourselves three dozen Krispy kremes. It only took an hour and a half of our time. But it was totally worth it!

It is always tough to think of new things to do though. They are only entertained for so long you know…

Randoms Couches, Paul and Judy, Matt hikes Timp and Tu-tu

Here are some more randoms from August.
Matt and I bought bunk beds from a lady that was showing an apartment we looked at. She told us as we were leaving that she was getting rid of these couches and anyone that wanted them could have them. We kind of joked about getting them but didn’t grab them. Two weeks later we went and got them and cleaned them up. We used them for a while until we were going to get our couches back. We decided to sell them and see if we could get our money back from the bunk bed purchase. We did!! That was awesome.

Flour everywhere.
We were blessed to have more family come visit us. Judy and Paul who are engaged and are getting married July 3rd 2016 came to visit us. They were super cute and we were so happy to see them. They were great with the kids!
Kristin was excited to show us her vege noodle slicer thing and the food was pretty good. I do not have great pictures from that night. Sorry.

We had a great night and I am so glad they stopped by!!

And lastly, Matt and Randy Buck hiked Timp together! He was so happy to have finally finished it and keeps telling me we are going to run up it next year...(Right...)

And last but definitely not least Scout in the tutu I bought for Sadie. Isn't she cute?

South Jordan Costco

Mom left 20 dollars with me to take Chrissy out for her birthday. We went to Kneaders. It was delicious.

Later that night we went to South Jordan to go to the Costco opening VIP party. Matt’s dad was traveling with the company and so he wanted us to come up and say hi and visit for a while. We were excited because they a;ways have a ton of great food there for openings. DSCF9556DSCF9557
Here was one of the things they had there. Sadie was scared of the bears though.

One of the traditions Costco has is to write your guess of what the Costco store will make on opening day and then to give it to the executive. The closest guess gets all of the money.

I guess someone was closer though.

The family all came up to see dad.

These girls love their grandpa! And their aunties too!

Afterwards I had to feed Scout so we went over to the Jordan River temple. (My parents got married here). It was like 2 blocks from the Costco so that was convenient. We took some fun pictures (Sadie took some so if you see fingers…)

It was a really fun night and we were glad Chrissy came with us. She was so good to help with the kids so I appreciate her a lot! And if you have a Costco opening by you…check it out!!

Chrissy’s birthday and the Ogden Temple

We stayed at Marcia’s the night before and she was sweet to make Chrissy a cake and what not. We had a good time there and were excited to get to the temple. We loaded up both cars with Chrissy’s stuff from before her mission (Marcia and them were nice to store it) and headed off to the temple.
Here is what the girls were doing while we loaded up.

Matt and Sadie did the ice bucket challenge. (Sadie was challenged by Aaron and while I was super opposed because it wasn’t hot and Sadie and Scout were both sick Matt really wanted to do it).

The girls. Isn’t the new temple pretty?
