River Trip

The Catron family got some permits for the Snake river and so we headed out to the campground. We got there a little later than everyone and just barely got to say goodbye to the Ross Catron family. It was so good to see all of them as we rarely do.
Sadie and Scout loved seeing Grampy and Grammy and Chrissy.

Grampy found a snake and had to do the traditional around the neckness. Sadie wasn't having it but Scout loved it!

We took the kids down once. It was beautiful but still a little chilly. (It was good that we came when we did since it poured for everyone else that was there for the couple days before). It was great weather the whole time we were there.
Sadie liked it but Scout mostly just slept. She was tired.
We went over to Grand Teton national park and checked it out there for a while. We hiked a bit and enjoyed the beautiful mountains.

The girls loved this little area that had been blocked off in the river. They loved throwing rocks and looking around in there and it was just down the path from the campsite which was perfect!
We waited at one of the rapids to see Daddy and Grampy go down a big rapid. (Big Kahuna?) I can't remember. It was a little scary because of the little cliff right there but it was fun to see them going.

Matt and I both cliff jumped up here. It was precarious as you see the picture of me shimming up the path on my belly to fit.

We loved spending time with this guy in his element.

Scout was in heaven with Uncle Dave's dog.

The girls like sleeping in the tent. We did glow sticks one night which was fun.

On our drive up we stopped and checked out these dinosaurs. It was awesome.

The kids decided to unpack their bags as we were driving.

We had a great time and were glad that we were able to make the trip up to go on the river. It was so fun spending time with Grammy and Grampy.

Sadie 3

May 25th, 2015
Sadie had a pretty calm birthday since we were having her party a different day.
She is such a joy. She talks a lot and says funny things like
"What the...?"
She loves riding her scooter and her bike (we got at a garage sale)
She doesn't want to be potty trained
She loves her sister
She loves nursery
She loves to sing all the time and jump around on the couch.

We had a few friends and family over to celebrate the actual birthday.
We love this girl and are so glad she is healthy and happy and a part of our family.

We did a joint princess party with her two friends who were turning 3 in the next month or so.
We were lucky to have Cinderella, another princess and prince Charming come to the party along with a lot of our friends.

We decorated papers, played, ate and just had a blast!

I loved that piƱata. Saw it on pinterest and thought it was so funny!

Becky, an employee at Matt's Costco offered to make the Princess cake for the party. It was sooo nice! She was so sweet to do that. It turned out fantastic!

All the siblings were nice to come and support and help out with the party :)

The kids loved the pink frosting and cupcakes.
Here are the birthday girls--Jessie, Kelsey, and Sadie

My mom was nice to let us borrow her bouncy house for the semester and party. The kids loved it!!

We had such a good time with our friends and family. The Bucks were here, my Mom made it. The Wings came along, Jessie and her Mom and of course all mine and Matt's siblings. It was a blast and we are so glad Sadie is 3! Now here's to potty training!

Ryan and Nadia’s Wedding

We drove out to Nebraska a couple days before the wedding. We stopped at Cody’s Trading post to take a little walk while Matt slept for a bit.

Ryan And Nadia

The kids were happy to get a treat and pull everything off the shelves. haha.

We got to Nebraska and went straight over to the law school for a tour. Matt’s Uncle Ed lives like 3 miles from the law school so they were generous enough to let us stay at their house. We had a really nice scholarship offer from Nebraska and so we were considering it for a couple of reasons.

1. Pay less than BYU (with scholarship and cost of living)
2. We would be more needed here in our ward and as missionaries for the church
3. We have family here that we do not see as often.

We drove out the next day to go down to Kansas City for the wedding. We were meeting the rest of the Hoffmans down there. We had a dinner with everyone and the food was delicious. A lot of work done by the family which was awesome. We learned a lot of Jewish traditions so that was neat.

We went down to Liberty Jail to visit and explore. It was really interesting and a wonderful piece of church history.

After this they had the “bridal shower.” Basically we all just went and gave advice and talked. Nadia’s mom read a letter from her grandmother that she wrote while Nadia was still in the womb before the grandma died. It was beautiful.

Later that night we ran out to go find some clothes to wear to the wedding. Last minute I know. We found some cute clothes at Target. When we got back from Target we found out that Matt had fallen asleep in the hotel room and Sadie left the room and walked around the hotel then went down the elevator. All by herself. She was hanging out in the lobby and they called the police. The police knocked on the doors and/or called every room on the first 5 floors until they got to our rooms. They knocked on my Aunt Pam’s door and asked if she knew. She realized it was Sadie and went down and got her. When they knocked on Matt’s door and asked him he realized she was gone. By then she was basically upstairs anyway. SCARY! But I am so glad she was safe!

Apparently she was looking for the free food they have in the mornings. haha.

The wedding was on Sunday, March 29th. We hung out for a while and just enjoyed the family. We took a lot of pictures.

The women all hung out to give advice to the bride and the men to the groom. Then the mensfolk came in to get the bride and we all went in to the ceremony area.

The ceremony was lovely and we really enjoyed it. The men and women sit on different sides. The girls were noisy and Sadie kept asking if one of the pictures in the synagogue was of Jesus. haha

We took pictures and played for a bit.

We played frisbee. This is when Andrea and dad feel in to the bushes trying to catch it. hah

Then we had dinner and dancing and it was lovely! We had so much fun! The girls loved dancing and Sadie danced with this boy and Scout all night.

It was an all day event and we really enjoyed it. The girls did great and just loved it so much!

We drove back to Grammy’s house and had some fun stops on the way.
