Noah’s Ark

We decided to have the Wing’s over for Family Home Evening. I decided to do a lesson on Noah’s Ark since that is a fun one for the kids. (animals are fun at this stage) We sang some songs and acted them out with the girls.

We had them use the cardboard to build an “ark.” It turned out only big enough for the girls but that was fine with the rest of us.

Then everyone got to pick an animal to be. (I got these off Amazon months ago and they are finally being put to good use!)

Matt showed Disney’s Noah’s Ark.

Then we tried to take some family pictures. Neither girl was going for it though.

I guess Scout didn’t seem to mind though.

We sang a couple more songs (Sadie was fascinated by them and the actions)IMG_0386
We had BBQ chicken salad for dinner and Cami made a key lime pie for dessert. IMG_0389
We are so lucky to have such good friends around.

Bothel Smothel

Aunt Andrea planned a dinner with all the kids from their area back home. It was a beautyiful day so we decided to walk over there. Sadie was sad because she wanted me to hold her but Matt wanted her to walk. She was really not thrilled.

I made her stop and smell all the pretty flowers.

We decided to reenact some pictures we took a while ago at our old house.

Then we stopped by our friends the Millers for a bit to play. He was our Bishop in the other ward and I absolutely LOVE his wife Lee. She is the nicest lady ever. I don’t know how she does it because her husband just got called in to the stake presidency and she has four young kids. But she handles it so well.
Sadie loved the tricycle and the car. The kids all climbed on. Good thing Abby is really strong so she could push them!

We finally made it to dinner and I had to feed Scout. I gave my camera to someone and they took some fun pictures. The second picture is of a baby that is 3 weeks younger than Scout. She is huge comparatively though. They were born at the same weight but Scout just hasn’t gained a ton.

We had a good time and enjoyed the Hawaiian haystacks. Kristin and Seth were good sports to host everyone. Sadie loved all the attention and it was good to see so many of Matt’s friends and old roommates.

Adam’s game

Aunt Marcia was sweet and brought our suitcase down from her house as she had been storing it for us. We need it for London so she brought it down. Adam came with her and said that he had a game that night. We weren't;t doing anything and since Matt was volunteering at the hospital we decided to go watch his game. We made him a sign (with the cardboard we covered the floors with) and headed over to the Richard’s Building on campus. We were going to walk but then decided that we would drive and then go visit Matt at the hospital.

I thought it would be really good and fun for Sadie to run around the bleachers and get tired. We rode the elevator to the second floor and looked around but unfortunately, they were in the one gym that didn’t have bleachers so she couldn’t run around. I had to lug both kids and all my crap and a sign down the stairs since I didn’t want to walk all the way back down the hall to the elevator. I had the sign in my mouth, the bags falling around me, was holding Sadie’s hand and Scout in the other. But we made it! Sadie was nervous and stayed with me the whole time so that was really good.
Adam did great. We really enjoyed watching him—even if they lost Sad smile. Here he is going up for a shot.

Scout wasn’t that interested but Sadie really enjoyed watching.

After the game he came over and hung out for a minute.

Hid girlfriend Sellica was really sweet and entertained Sadie for a bit. Sadie loved her necklace and wore it around for a while. We almost forgot to give it back!

Sad cause he lost.
IMG_0192
Happy because he is a happy guy.

He kept trying to help me carry things out. He tried to carry Scout but Sadie was too nervous to let him. I guess she thought he was going to kidnap her or something. Silly girl. Anyway, she wouldn’t even let him carry my bags or the camera either but was most protective of her sister. She is cute (even if I was tired from carrying everything)

Afterwards we went to the hospital to visit Daddy. When we got there a fire truck and an ambulance showed up to eat dinner so we waved to them. They got out and tried to talk to Sadie but she was being too shy to respond. They gave her a sticker anyway and then we went off to find Dad.

Cardboard

So the other night Matt brought home some cardboard from Costco and decided to draw on it. Sadie had a ball when he started tracing her and scout and she wanted to do it too. She LOVED it. I need to find the picture of the outlines, it was so cute. They had a great time and drew and drew for a long time. (which is a big feat with a toddler--keeping them entertained for more than ten seconds ;))

I Love Scout's face in this next one. haha

Then Sadie and Daddy had a wrestling match while Scout watched. Unfortunately, Scout is getting the badly old man syndrome that Sadie got with the balding in the back. This probably means she is soon only going to have that hair at the bottom on the back and nothing else. Sad day.

Then they had some snuggle time with Daddy in the bed. They are stinkers and kept telling me goodbye so they could sleep there.

Scout is not sure how she feels about kisses from everyone.

I am so grateful for a husband that is SO fun and creative. He is always thinking of really fun cheap things to do with Sadie and me and I really appreciate it. Sadie loves it and we don't  have to spend any money so that is awesome. Matt is so great with kids and that is such a blessing. I am so lucky to have such a sweet fun husband!
