Utah’s Capitol

DSCF9288
I can’t get over those faces!! Love these babies. We went up to the Capitol to meet up with Aunt Joyce and Uncle Sam. It was really fun to see them but while we waited we looked that the Buffalo.
We took many pictures as per norm. I don’t remember ever going to the Capitol so it was fun to look around. It really is pretty. DSCF9303DSCF9305
Aunt Andrea came with us and we found Aunt and Uncle in the front of the capitol.

I know this next one is blurry but I love that the girls are reaching to each other. They really do love each other and want to play all the time.
DSCF9310
Sadie loved Uncle Sam. We prepped her by telling her that Uncle Sam wore a hat like her Grandpa Rich. We told her that a billion times so she ended up just calling him Grandpa. Smile
Utah Capitol

They had some good quality time together. He was SO good with the kids. He taught Sadie about bird poop and I wish I could remember the name he had for it.
We sat at a picnic table there for a long time and just chatted. It was nice to catch up and talk to them about things.
DSCF9317DSCF9323
Sadie loved playing with the rocks. And cigarette butts as well I guess. She just ran around and played while we talked. She is so funny. I love it. Scout sat on the table with us and ate the water bottle.
 DSCF9325
We went inside after a little bit because Sadie was getting restless. We walked around for a little bit and then everyone else came inside too. It was really pretty inside but we were sad because they were doing a lot of renovations. Sadie was fascinated by the fancy dresses that a few girls had on there (for pictures).

Sadie is such a stink about smiling for the camera. So basically anything is a treat SmileDSCF9352
I posted this picture in the collage but I love the Halo he has over his head! So righteous!DSCF9353
Taking a picture with the bell. She is so sweet!

Thanks for coming to visit us Aunt and Uncle! We loved spending time with you!
And
Thanks for coming with us Andrea. And for driving! You are the best! We love you.

Fall Leaves

We went to look at the fall leaves on the 22nd. We drove up the canyon and this is what we found…

IMG_0348IMG_0354

Don’t be fooled. There were like three trees with pretty leaves! I guess we were a little late this year! Whoops

IMG_0349

The rest looked like that. But we were also here to hike Scout Falls on Mount Timp.

Oooooh look. We found a couple colored leaves. IMG_0350

Forgot a coat for Sadie. Rats.

IMG_0351

We did find some ice though. That was exciting. It was a bit chilly.

IMG_0356

And then we saw the people who passed us coming back down the trail. They said there was a adolescent moose walking down the trail. We went and hid in the bushes hoping he would walk right past us. He hear us and Scout was making a racket so he decided to ditch the trail.

Here are the really pretty trees we found in super zoom.

IMG_0362

Right when we got to this point we hear some people yelling at us to stop. They said there was another moose on the trail shortly ahead of us. Apparently this one decided it was a good time to take a nap. haha

IMG_0360

Matt tried to howl and yell at it to move but to no avail.

IMG_0361

The girls and I climbed up the path so if it did move we wouldn’t get attacked. Neither girl was thrilled with this though and since the moose didn’t seem to want to move we decided to bail on the hike. Better luck next time I guess!

DSCF0343DSCF0344DSCF0359DSCF0364

We had to take a couple pictures before we left. I kept looking behind me though to make sure it wasn’t coming towards us.

This little girl did not walk a ton but she was cute! The scenery was so pretty!

DSCF0374

This little girl kept trying to rip her hat off. She refuses to wear one.

DSCF0377

So pretty up there!

We had a good walk down the mountain. It was fun, even if we didn’t get to our destination. But we had a great time seeing the Mooses!

Worst Food Ever

Okay, maybe no the worst ever, but it was pretty bad. My mom gave us 20 bucks to go out to eat sometime so we decided to take a break from the day and go and get some food. We walked along center street for a while and decided to go to a Chinese buffet. Matt buys me Chinese food every once in a while and I LOVE it. But man, it was the worst. We won’t be going there anymore!
DSCF9426
We had a good time though. Family time is the best. Matt wanted to take a picture here because we took some engagements right here as well. Now look how far we have come! Thanks Mom for the family outing!

Gates of Ladore

Matt, Chrissy, and my Dad went and rafted down the Green with the Catron family. Mom came up and visited me while they were on this adventure. Looks like they had fun! Here are a few pictures of their trip.

Finishing July

We had so much fun this July. It was interesting trying to get back to a normal schedule. We did that by spending some time with the Buck family at Ikea. Sadie and Amy loved trying out the cool chairs they had on display. I love Ikea. There are always such interesting things to look at in the store and it just goes on forever! It is like a maze trying to get out. So basically I love Ikea until about 20 minutes in with whiny kids and no way of knowing how to get out Smile

Then we met Aunt Kristin at the Burlington Coat Factory. We had a good time there and Sadie tried out all the baby toys. I was really sad though because somewhere in there I lost Scout’s cute binky clip from my cousin Lyndsay.

Just another fabulous sunset in Utah. Sadie loved seeing the pink and purple in the sky.

And some snuggles. I love these girls!

Pioneer Day

We went to the Pioneer day festivities on July 24th. It was fun, although it was really hot that day. I guess that really is not a surprise though since it is July in Utah. We went over to the Pioneer village by the Rec Center. It is a neat little spot and they have some fun activities for the kids to do.
The kids were not very excited about posing and smiling for me.
DSCF0661
We learned about pottys and how they made things and how they stored their food. It was interesting and we had a good time. The kids loved the handcart ride the best. Man, it was heavy!
Pioneer Day
We enjoyed learning about the pioneers. I like it because it is small. Perfect for kids with short attention spans. They did have a couple people dressed up like pioneers but Sadie didn’t want to talk to them.
We then went over to the park and played. Sadie has way more fun when other kids are at the park too.
She is so adventurous so it is fun to watch her play. She isn’t scared of anything.

Scout loves the camera strap.
DSCF0695
After some threatening (I’m sure) Sadie decided to smile with Scout for a picture. Not sure what Scout’s face is doing.

DSCF0710
We finished the day with some sparklers at our house. It took a while to coax Sadie to hold a sparkler but she loved it when she finally did.
Pioneer Day1
I got the kids to bed and was ready to enjoy my night. However, when Matt got home at 9:15 he decided we should take the girls up to the Y parking lot and watch the fireworks. I was not thrilled then but I am glad we did it because Sadie was thrilled. She LOVED it! It was really fun to see all the fireworks going in Provo, Orem and I think Eagle Mountain. It was really fun. We enjoyed hearing people singing “Firework” by Katy Perry.
