We went to the Pioneer day festivities on July 24th. It was fun, although it was really hot that day. I guess that really is not a surprise though since it is July in Utah. We went over to the Pioneer village by the Rec Center. It is a neat little spot and they have some fun activities for the kids to do.
The kids were not very excited about posing and smiling for me.
We learned about pottys and how they made things and how they stored their food. It was interesting and we had a good time. The kids loved the handcart ride the best. Man, it was heavy!
We enjoyed learning about the pioneers. I like it because it is small. Perfect for kids with short attention spans. They did have a couple people dressed up like pioneers but Sadie didn’t want to talk to them.
We then went over to the park and played. Sadie has way more fun when other kids are at the park too.
She is so adventurous so it is fun to watch her play. She isn’t scared of anything.

Scout loves the camera strap.
After some threatening (I’m sure) Sadie decided to smile with Scout for a picture. Not sure what Scout’s face is doing.
We finished the day with some sparklers at our house. It took a while to coax Sadie to hold a sparkler but she loved it when she finally did.
I got the kids to bed and was ready to enjoy my night. However, when Matt got home at 9:15 he decided we should take the girls up to the Y parking lot and watch the fireworks. I was not thrilled then but I am glad we did it because Sadie was thrilled. She LOVED it! It was really fun to see all the fireworks going in Provo, Orem and I think Eagle Mountain. It was really fun. We enjoyed hearing people singing “Firework” by Katy Perry.
