Backpacking Day 4

Another morning. There was a big debate this morning about what to do. We had decided the night before to stick around camp and do an easy hike…but then they decided to go on a long hike to Hyatt Lake. I said there was no way that Sadie or I was going even though Daniel offered to take Sadie.  HA. Matt, Kristin, and Aaron stayed back with me which I think was really good because Matt and Aaron were pretty sick. It gave them a day to recover.

Seth practiced tying knots a lot during the trip. He had a little book to teach him so that was cool. Here is Dad making breakfast. And Kristin waking up with a big yawn. We decided to eat quesadillas every morning for breakfast because they were sooo good. We also ate oatmeal.

Here is Daniel leaving for the day. He has a solar panel on his back…Apparently he can’t live without technology for a week.

Sadie had to eat…even in the wilderness. And here are some pictures of her. Matt gave her some chapstick to hold. She would put it in her mouth and then make a disgusted face and gag for a second. Then a few seconds later she would do it again.

Here we are singing around the campfire. Okay, not really, the Hoffmans don’t sing like the Catron’s do. But we are gathered and enjoying the big fire. Loved it!

I really enjoyed sticking around camp. We played cards, took naps, ate top ramen for lunch and just hung out.
