Hatch Family reunion

Sadie, Scout and I flew to Denver on our way to the Hatch reunion. This was the second plane ride where she got to have her own seat on the airplane and she did a lot better. She was a little naughty on the first flight but once she understood that the seatbelt sign meant we had to wear our seatbelts she did fine. Scout was great as usual.

In Denver we were super blessed to meet up with my parents and Chrissy (It was planned but still nice.)  Sadie was SO excited to see them. Since London she had been talking about how she wanted to “go to Grammy’s house” and “go to Chrissy’s house” and even “go to Grampy’s house.” She missed them and was excited to see them. I don’t even think she acted shy at all which she tends to do.  We tried to trick them saying we were waiting at the gate to go to Boston but they were waiting at our gate for us so they knew that wasn’t true. We were the last ones off the plane and we were able to see them right away. Chrissy was almost trying to run down the ramp to get Sadie. Smile They were so helpful on the plane to Boston and through everything. It was nice to be able to use the bathroom if I wanted to. Smile

Sadie got sit in between Grammy and Grampy and she was so excited. They had a lot of snacks for her—in typical Grampy style, they were free ones from the lounge and hotel that they loaded up on. I got to sit by Chrissy and chat with her which is still so fun for me.  I missed her a lot and was glad to have her back from her mission.

We arrived at the Boston airport at about 4pm and walked out to go see Callie and Andrew who were picking us up. Andrew and Maggie came in and it was so fun to see them! Maggie is such a string bean! Sadie was OUT since she didn’t fall asleep until like the last 40 minutes of the flight so she missed a lot of the excitement.
We got our luggage and went outside to the cars were Callie and Charlie were waiting. It was so nice to meet the little guy. He is super long and lanky and just sweet. It was good to see Callie too. It had been a while and always seems so long in between when we get to see them. Chrissy, my kids and I got in the car with Andrew and Mom and Dad got in with Callie and the kids.

We drove for a long time. After maybe and hour and a half we stopped to get gas and food at Burger king, The girls loved the waterfall there! They had one in the middle of the store. Maggie and Sadie were so cute together. They loved being with each other and talking and running around together. It made all of us happy and a little relieved Smile
We got to the lake and enjoyed seeing the family. Uncle Jess was ready to set off those fireworks. I know that first picture is blurry but I love how she is reaching to Great Grandma.DSCF9013DSCF9018DSCF9019
We were so excited to get to come and spend time with everyone!

After like 8 years

I am trying to learn how to really use my camera. I see everyone else taking pictures and I think, “Wait, I was the one who always took pictures…why am I not doing this?” But is really took me having to give Chrissy’s camera back after her mission for me to actually do anything about it. So here are a few of my first attempts at shooting manual that actually turned out! Hopefully it will just get better from here!

My man

Not sure who took this picture but I love it! The real Matt smile!IMG_8919
On another note, we went to Ikea with Jenny and the kids the other day. We had a blast looking around and having fun. The best part was that we didn’t spend any money! Awesome!

On the way back we met Kristin at Burlington Coat Factory. Sadie wanted to play with all the baby toys. She carried a suitcase and an umbrella around half the store until we got to the baby section. She was so happy. Kristin was nice to walk around with us for forever!

Then we got home to this beautiful sunset! Loved it. Sadie really liked seeing the pink in the sky.

Soccer Sunday

In the The Family Proclamation it has a list of qualities we need to have in our household.
“Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities.“
While we try to live all of them, Matt definitely takes the wholesome recreation activities one very seriously Smile
So one Sunday night we went outside to water our tomato plants.
Sadie takes this very seriously. She is a great helper/

We love our tomatoes and are glad they are finally coming in!

Afterward, we decided to play soccer as a family. Sadie liked it for a bit but mostly wanted to play with Scout and watch Matt and me play.
Sadie loves to sit in Scout’s bumbo.

I am so happy to have a husband who is so involved in our activities!! He always tries to get me to be better and to go outside more.

Ward Water Activity

I don’t know if I have ever had a prouder moment than at this activity. We got to the potluck activity and they brought squirt guns and squirt bottles for the kids to play with. It was a good idea and the kids loved it. Sadie loved squirting me and Matt.

We are trying to get rid of food storage before we move so we took spaghetti…kind of lame but I like it! Anyway, I asked Sadie to hold the spoon for me on the way home…what a mess!

Ice Cream with Daddy

Everyone once in  a while when I want to go do something with Sadie (which I promise is rare) Matt and Sadie have a daddy/daughter date. They went to get ice cream this time and they LOVED it!

Six Months

So I know I posted a bunch of pictures on facebook for Scout’s “Birthday” but I need to do an update here. I cannot believe how quickly time has flown with this little one. It is amazing how smart she is. Scout is six months

Scout:

-is eating some rice cereal and baby food and is getting better about swallowing it.
-sits up no problem
-turns in circles on the ground to follow her toys
-still smiles and giggles when she sees Sadie.
-Likes to hit things against the ground
-does some reaching
-talks a lot
-drools a lot
-I can see her front teeth under the gums but nothing out of the gums yet
-curious about everything
-spits up less
-likes her binky but is mostly okay with out it
-loves to chew on everything
-still the sweetest personality

She is so happy and we love having her in our family.
