Monday Magic

because what else would a cloudy Monday at Disneyland be?
And it was magical! Since it the forecast was for rain when we got there at 9:30 you could see that it was going to be a VERY different experience from Saturday’s. The boys went early. (We were all planning to but only the boys actually went. I had woken up at like two and was extremely nauseated. I thought I was going to have to throw up for a long time. I finally realized that I hadn’t taken my nausea pill since Thursday night. Whoops! So I took it and almost instantly felt better! Thank you modern medicine!) Anyway, so Grandma, Grandpa, Jessica and I got there at about 9:30 and were so happy to see no crowds. We took pictures with the Halloween Mickey on the way in. Look how cute my in-laws are!

We walked right on to a couple rides. We walked right on to Pirates and had the boat to ourselves I think. Sadie sat on Grandpa’s lap and was emotionless again during this ride. I thought it was kind of interesting. I wonder though, since most rides weren’t really that exciting for me if I was just so worried about Sadie’s reaction that I couldn’t enjoy it. Or maybe its just another pregnancy thing?
We were walking over to the Jungle Cruise again when we saw Princess Tatiana from the Frog Princess. There wasn’t anyone in line so we ran over really fast to get a picture. Sadie wasn’t sure what to think again but the princess was really nice.

P.S. Uncle Aaron bought Sadie this dress! It was sooo nice of him! I don’t think I got a good picture but it says Disney Princess on the front Smile Thanks Uncle Aaron!
On the way to the Jungle Cruise Grandpa Sadie and I walked right in to the Haunted Mansion. I was determined the whole time not to take her on it since I didn’t want her to get scared but at the last minute decided to run in and try it. They redid it for Halloween and made it into the Nightmare Before Christmas. It was clever and interesting. Grandpa wasn’t sure about it—he said he didn’t like that it was making fun of Christmas. I guess none of the Hoffman’s have actually seen The Nightmare Before Christmas so it didn’t quite make sense to them. I have seen it though and tried to explain what it was about and that it WAS a Disney movie. haha.
Clark was sleeping—hence Gpa and me going without Jess and Gma. We decided to go first and then we would watch Clark while they went. I guess he woke up though because they were gone when we got out.
This is a picture of the Haunted Manion. Those four men were singing as we walked in. It was pretty good music.

Then we really did go back to the Jungle Cruise and rode it again. We got the SAME guy as last time…and I am sure they are all trained in the same really cheesy jokes but it was a little much. It also didn’t help that we were RIGHT under the speaker in the back of the boat and he was WAY to loud. I had to trade Gpa spots because he really really hates loud noises. IMG_0385
They wanted to go on Indiana Jones and so Sadie, Clark and I headed over to the Tiki Room again since it was like next door. I carried them over—that was a BIG mistake. These babies are chunkers! My arms were killing me by the time I walked the 100 feet or whatever it was. I put them both down right away when we got there. Good thing it wasn’t crowded!
We ate a lot of snacks while we waited for the room to open up. IMG_0391IMG_0396
Sadie was really jealous of the Dole ice cream or whatever they were serving. She was trying to stare this girl down. haha
IMG_0393
They ended being done way before us since they just walked on and we were worried that we were going to miss the show that we wanted to see. When Gpa, Jess and I were riding the train on Saturday we saw this show at one of the stops and really wanted to go today. We ran over there to see the show.
IMG_0400IMG_0409
It was really good. It featured Mickey and a bunch of different Disney characters. I think it was called “Mickey’s Magical Map” or something like that. Sadie was entertained for a bit and then had to find some of her own entertainment.
IMG_0404
They had streamers falling down so that was really cute. The kids liked that!
IMG_0413
The boys wanted to eat after that but Sadie and I saw Snow White and booked it after her. Unfortunately she was in a rush though and so we only got this picture of her escort and back.
IMG_0414IMG_0417
Lunch was good. We ate at a place on Main Street. Sadie got crayons again which entertained her for about 45 seconds.
IMG_0421
This cute guy came over and gave Sadie a “1st Visit” pin so that was really nice! We were sad Clark didn’t get one too but I guess they will just have to share.
IMG_0424IMG_0427
I am sure from the second picture that you can tell Sadie was thrilled about the pin…
IMG_0434IMG_0445
Uncle Aaron had to enteratin her for a bit after that. They ran around the pole saying “weeeeee!” Aaron got a cool Pirate drink with a light up thing. Sadie was getting really tired though so she decided to cuddle with Gma for a bit. Then she fell asleep. Clark and Sadie slept for a bit so that was good.
IMG_0441IMG_0446
We found some characters out there but all of their lines were closed so we just grabbed some pictures from the side. Sadie was still out cold so she missed it but I really enjoyed it!

(Thanks Jess for that picture!)
IMG_0450IMG_0452
After lunch we headed over to California Adventure.
IMG_0459IMG_0462
They had this really cool wall. They had awesome landscaping here. Here is the Mickey Ferris wheel which I thought was awesome!
IMG_0464IMG_0465IMG_0471IMG_0520
Seth, Aaron and I ran over the The Little Mermaid ride. Seth and I sat together and Aaron and Sadie sat together. Then we ran over to the Buzz Lightyear ride since Jess was raving about it. It was like a 3D video game. Sadie and I rode with Gpa. He killed me. He didn’t like it very much since it was so jerky. We sat Sadie in between us and all of the jerking was knocking her head into the bar so it wasn’t really enjoyable for any of us. But Jess was happy since she won. And they boys liked it of course.
IMG_0530IMG_0536
Then we went and rode the Merry-go-Round. Everyone (especially the boys since they would care the most) was SUPER good sports about going on rides that they babies could go on. They were sweet and it was fun to see them with the kids.
IMG_0549IMG_0570IMG_0575IMG_0584IMG_0592IMG_0604
haha. I love the ones with Seth, Gma and Sadie. They were awesome. Another thing Jessica raved about was the Ghirardelli ice cream shop. We all love ice cream so we ran over. I ordered a candy bar strawberry shake but I really didn’t like it so that was a bummer. Should have just gotten a cone! Sadie loved it though. Everyone gave her a lot of theirs. haha
IMG_0623IMG_0625IMG_0629
Loved all the pumpkins every where. This was were one of the characters stands and get pictures but we took one without them.
IMG_0618
We headed over to Cars Land and went to Mater’s Petting Zoo. haha. I thought it was hilarious.
IMG_0634IMG_0640
I really wanetd some more pictures with Princesses so Gma was a good sport and ran back to Disneyland to see them with us. The only one there though was Ariel and since she wasn’t my favorite I didn’t want to wait 30 minutes for it and decided I would rather get good seats for the parade. So Gma again was a good sport (her poor knee) and we ran back and sat and saved seats for everyone. Sadie somehow knocked the stroller over on herself. I was too busy laughing so Gma had to help her. Nice mom I am huh?
IMG_0647IMG_0648
They boys were cute and came for the parade too. They loved holding the kids. Aaron bo u ght a Turkey leg since I guess Kristin loves them or something. Everyone enjoyed getting some bites off of that!
IMG_0650IMG_0653
Just waiting for the parade!
IMG_0655IMG_0656
Seth was awesome and entertained BOTH of the sidekicks before the parade. Sadie thought it was hilarious Smile She kept looking at Clark like “this is awesome.” It was interesting before the parade all of the people were coming in for “Mickey’s Halloween party.” They all had costumes on and it was fun to see them but it was getting insanely crowded!
IMG_0659IMG_0661
The boys tried to get Sadie excited about the floats and people singing and dancing.
IMG_0672IMG_0679
I guess she had enough of them though so she went to sit on Gpa’s lap. haha
IMG_0698IMG_0704
We ran back over to California Adventure to see there parade. The boys decided to give Sadie some turkey leg. She LOVED it. haha. People were laughing and talking about it as we walked by.
IMG_0708IMG_0710
We took some pictures with the big man on the way over.
IMG_0738IMG_0749
I actually liked this parade better than the Disneyland one. The characters were way more interactive and it was a lot more fun. Sadie even got into this one a little bit. IMG_0740
We went to dinner after this. My plate of spaghetti was 17.99. Ouch!
IMG_0760IMG_0765
It was getting cold and Disneyland was closed so we hung out at California Adventure until the light show. We went over to the Bread Factory thing and learned how they make bread. It was so late so they were just cleaning up but we enjoyed being inside.
IMG_0771
By this point Gpa left to go home. Jessica Aaron and Seth went back to the Toy Story ride and Gma and I stayed with the babies. Clark was supposed to be sleeping the whole time. We told Gma she could go look around and I would stay with Sadie and Clark. Clark woke up right after she left and cried and cried. We fed him a bottle. Sadie was really cute and wanted to feed him so she helped me. She was mad when he was done though because she wanted to keep helping. Sorry it is blurry~
IMG_0781
Finally time for the show! We talked to an employee who said that he would go sit by the Ferris Wheel for the show because you could see just as well as the other side but it wasn’t nearly as crowded. Which was fine except for that giant thing in the middle Smile But we got the gist of it. And after about 3 minutes Sadie was running around anyway. She dropped her binky in the water so that was sad. Good thing I brought two this trip!
IMG_0784IMG_0787
I was a little sad that there weren’t any fireworks. Sad smile But there was fire!
IMG_0795
Afterwards the boys were in a panic to get souveneers and I wanted to look around as well. The boys were in big trouble though because they handed Sadie this Minnie Mouse and she would not give it up. She was so mad at me when I took it away and there was no binky to mute her Winking smile
IMG_0800IMG_0802
Isn’t my brother in law adorable?
IMG_0775
We got on the shuttle and headed home. I wanted to find something to send to Chrissy but I wasn’t going to pay Disney’s price for it so Aaron was super nice and walked over to Target with me since it was across the street from the hotel. He was so nice! I got a couple key chains and some pencils to send to Chrissy. Sadie stayed with Seth and Gma and Gpa and jumped on the bed with them. She loved it! It was a blast today!
